Before Dr. Nolan, regular teeth cleanings and dental procedures were a nightmare. I avoided going to the dentist at all for many years until I read about Dr. Nolan. Dealing with Dr. Nolan and Debbie makes it so much easier to keep my teeth clean and healthy. Together with the receptionist Paula they create a family-like atmosphere that puts you at ease and takes away anxieties. You are always kept informed about Dr. Nolan's schedule and whether you should come in later than the scheduled time if he is running late or can come in earlier if someone cancels. For an emergency repair, I can always an appointment right away.

Dr. Nolan and Debbie are always sensitive to my needs during procedures and are always careful to make sure there is no pain, that I have a blanket if I am cold or whatever else I need to make me as comfortable as possible. Everything about his office is up-to-date from the digital x-ray photos to the internet in the waiting room. He is always great about explaining what needs to be done and how long it will take so you always feel like you are in control of what is going on when your teeth are being worked on. I have always highly recommended Dr. Nolan to my friends and family.

No one likes to go to the dentist, at least I didn't 10 years ago. I hadn't been to a dentist in over 25 years and my teeth were a mess. I found myself keeping my mouth closed while I was smiling due to a gap in my front teeth and a chipped tooth and this was just my cosmetic problems. My first appointment I was told what could be done to correct my years of neglect. Dr. Nolan prescribed some medication to treat my gums, worked on cavities and proposed a plan of veneers to give me the smile I had been missing for so long. Dr. Nolan is a perfectionist and expects the same from his staff, this is all to the benefit of the patient. I could not be happier with my results and now make regular appointments for cleaning and checkups. I almost forgot to mention the pain, that's because during all of my treatments I did not experience any pain. The staff is constantly checking with you to keep you relaxed and informed of all of your treatments. I would highly recommend Dr. Nolan to anyone.

About Hygienist: Since I began seeing Dr. Nolan I have been going for regular cleanings. While I have improved on my brushing and flossing I am one of those people who get a lot of calciuim buildup. Dr. Nolan's hygienist, Danuta is very good at getting rid of my buildup, leaving me with clean, wonderful feeling teeth again without any pain. Danuta and the entire staff are extremely nice and well mannered.

My latest experience would have sent me and most into a frenzy. It was late on a Friday night and I had a molar literally break in half in my mouth. I was in terrible pain. I went to doctor Nolan because no other dentist could get me numb. It was hard to find a dentist that would IV sedate and did general dentistry and oral surgery(implants) so I would only need to be sedated once. The whole process was very simple and explained very well. He kept me updated on what was happening as I had a lot of work done in one day. He emailed and called me after to make sure I was okay. They are open every other Saturday which is very convenient when you don't want to miss work, I traved 40 minutes to this dentist and it was worth it.

Dr. Nolan deals with dental chickens (like myself) in a caring manner. The twilight sleep for extensive procedures is fairly expensive, but it is the only way to have extensive work performed. I have had several root canals and one extraction of an infected tooth, followed by a bridge. I am very happy with the bridge. He has also done several crowns for me. I am very hard on my dental work, and the crowns have been known to come off when the dental cement gave up. Recently I had this happen when Dr. Nolan was leaving the office. He agreed to wait a set number of minutes for me, and when I made it in to his office, had my crown reattached in no time!

I also had a snore guard made. If you snore, having one of these will help you stop snoring and allow you to have more restful sleep.

Paula runs the front office and takes care of the insurance submissions and appointment scheduling. If Dr. Nolan or the hygienist is running behind, she will contact me to rearrange the appointment time. This is appreciated very much, as I have better things to do than sit in a waiting room!

In the waiting room, internet access and a TV are available, along with the varied assortment of magazines.

About Hygienist: Debbie is very personable and assists Dr. Nolan with any dental work that is needed. She has a great sense of humor.

I've had dental phobia my whole life - not any more! My whole life I've had one thing or another going on in my mouth - a cavity, a needed root canal, a cracked tooth, a baby tooth that refused to come out at 35, you name it I had it! I had my first tooth pulled when I was 10 and it was such a bad experience I never wanted to go to the dentist again...and every time I did the dentist would fill me full of bad news and would really get my anxiety going. Dr. Nolan's work has made me a patient for life, but it was Debbie who made me feel at ease as soon as I met her. She's got a great relaxed way about her. She exudes confidence but is very approachable and very funny. It was Debbie who made me feel comfortable enough to climb into the chair so Dr. Nolan could work his magic. Thank you Debbie!

I am scared of the dentist :( so I will only go to Dr Nolan. He is phenomenal with patients like me. Even though he isnt the cheapest I will only go to him. I have moved around a lot in the last 20 years so I have had a lot of experience with different doctors and dentists and I have never had a great dentist before Doctor N. Dr Nolans work on my mouth go wrong (and I met Dr Nolan when getting a low cost botched root canal fixed). This Doctor works very hard at being the best. He performs almost perfect procedures (and I'm a tough judge) and he is always growing and grooming his technique and educating himself to the current trends in dentistry. I made a visit to Dr. Nolan after years of dental neglect. He and his team made quick, relatively painless work of a number of restorations, a crown and whitening. I have recently had 3 teeth break due to old silver fillings I got when I was a kid. I needed root canals and crowns. I was scared to death because of all the horror stories I had heard from other people, and having experienced some nightmare dentists in the past.

I brought my brother in because his teeth had suffered years of neglect. Dr. Nolan explained that there was extensive work to be done and would begin with the most critical. He wasted no time in starting the work and understood the cost contraints and worked within them. three years to go to another dentist - I was terrified. Where would I find another compassionate dentist who would understand my sensitive teeth and gums?

Enter Dr. Robert Nolan. When he first treated me 5 years ago, I had two broken fillings holding my back molars together, a crown and another filling that needed to be replaced AND my teeth were cemented together with tartar.

I came to Dr. Nolan, because I woke up with my jaw and gums swollen from a tooth that needed a root canal that had a temp filling by another Dentist. It was obvious that it was infected and painful. Dr. Nolan gave me a appointment that morning, needless to say the tooth was damaged beyond saving, at that point the tooth had to be removed and a bridge made to replace the tooth. He prepped the teeth next to the removed tooth for the bridge that day. I came back in about a week later to get the bridge installed. No pain and after a little grinding to fit the bite. I haven't had any problems with the bridge since. That was 7 yrs ago. During this whole procedure the office staff had been taking care or all the insurance paper work. I don't remember doing any paper work beyond showing my insurance card. Dr Nolan and his staff were very caring and attentive to my dislike of pain. Since then he has replaced all my metallic fillings and also had to do a crown on another tooth. His office is alway clean, comfortable, and cool in the summer. The staff always have great chair side manner, I

The one thing I like is his understanding of when I say, "I have no tolerance for even a tingle of pain", that he takes extra care to insure I am pain free and happy. Dr. Nolan is by far the best dentist hands down. I am originally from Illinois and when I moved to California in 1991 I was very picky in choosing a dentist that would put me at ease and take care of me in the manner I needed and expected. I suffered severe oral trauma as a child in an accident and spent years dealing with dentists, operations, orthodontists, etc. My entire adult life has been spent avoiding the dentist at all costs. Right before I moved to New York, I was residing in California. I took the Christmas/ New Years deal in the newspapers that Dr. Nolan offered for a clean up of teeth by a dental hygienist.

I must tell you that I had not cleaned my teeth in a long while because I never felt the need to - I had all my teeth cavities filled with amalgam and I never had bad breath. I just thought my lower teeth were yellow and I was feeling awkward about smiling without covering my mouth with my hands.

So finally in January, I got an appointment with my coupon - I had paid very little for X-ray, checkup and cleaning/ hygiene for my teeth.

The dental hygienist who worked on me did a great job - because my teeth changed color! I never knew the magic that dental hygienists could do, before that!

Since after, I have decided to do my dental cleaning atleast 3-4 times a year (more than the recommended two times!)

After my visit with the dental hygienist, Dr Nolan came in and patiently explained the X-rays to me. He told me what my teeth were lacking and asked me to get my fillings redone & most of them were cracked and leaking.

I left for New York soon after - But I am going to Cali next month and I will get my appointment with Dr. Nolan's hygienist again!

i am very ,very , happy with the crowns i had done on my upper six front teeth. Dr. Nolan was very professional, and to the point. He did not belittle me because i had not been to the dentist for many years. I am a physician and he treated me like a professional. I saw dr. nolan from a bus bench and went to him on an emergency. I called on sunday . To my surprise dr. nolan answered the telephone. Wow! I only go to the dentist when i have a toothache. I am a dental chicken.

Dr. Nolan met me in three hours from my phone call in his office at 8 pm sunday night. He was real casual which i thought was really great. I could tell he was not a stuffy dentist. The office was real relaxed. Dr. Nolan got me out of pain and i felt great after i left.

The next week i came back for x-rays and exam. He throughly reviewed everything. The dental assistant took digital x-rays and photos of the inside of my mouth. I needed a lot of work. I think my entire exam took over one hour. Funny thing, he did not leave the room the whole time.

What a great experience. Everyone was so nice to me. They did not make me feel bad because my mouth was in bad condition.

When i finally had the work done dr. nolan did three root canals and crowns on me & one veneer. He put me to sleep and i woke up and did not remember anything . I like the small touches: the aquarium and comfortable chairs in the waiting room (although I've never had long to wait), the modern equipment like the small in-mouth digital camera so I can see my teeth the way he sees my teeth, and the clean facilities. Although i was not a chicken, I had ignored my teeth for over 5 years and knew I was facing serious consequences. I gave in and made an appointment for a checkup. Paula was so nice when I called to make an appointment, and when I arrived in the office she made me feel so comfortable. After the initial consultation, I was told I had to have 9 fillings removed and replaced. Dr. Nolan and his staff made me feel safe and comfortable about proceeding with the treatment. My next appointment was very intense. I have terrible allergies, so it is very hard for me to breathe through my nose. I was very nervous about having my mouth blocked, but Dr. Nolan and the staff adjusted their procedures to ensure that I was comfortable and able to breathe. I had an excellent experiance with Dr. Nolan. He is kind and compassionate and is wonderful with fearful patients. I had cavities filled and a tooth pulled, I was very nervous and Dr. Nolan provided my with appropriate medication to be able to undergo my treatments. All of my treatments were done in a highly professional and succsesful manner. I experienced no pain at all, and was seen for excellent follow up visits.Dr Nolan's staff is wonderful. Very friendly, warm and caring. They always remember your name.I would highly reccomend Dr. Nolan, he is the best dentist I have ever been to.

Yes, I went to see the dentist that advertises all over the city on bus bench ads. Yes, he's the "we cater to dental chickens" guy. And you know what? He's an outstanding dentist.

Just because he markets himself on bus ads doesn't take away from the fact that he's a skilled dentist with a friendly staff. They're always on time with appointments, they respect your time and possible phobias, and can work with absolutely anyone's fear and pain management.

Dr. Nolan's bedside manner is refreshingly candid. He doesn't waste time with goofy fake charisma or treacly mannerisms. He'll tell you what needs to be done, and why, and you can make your own informed decisions. I appreciate his straightforwardness, such as when he says, "I'm not going to tell you to floss more because you know that already." He's not being coy, he's being honest. He also doesn't give a toss what toothbrush you use, as long as you're flossing.

And he's right. We should all floss more.

About Hygienist: Paula, who runs Dr. Nolan's front desk, is exceptionally gregarious and remembers all the patients. Debbie and the rest of his staff are all professional and extremely skilled at everything from cleanings to assisting in fillings and the rest. My teeth are exceptionally clean afterwards.

I have professionally and as a patient known dr. Nolan for 30 years. I am not too bad with dentists, but am ususally impatient. Dr. Nolan was on time, helpful and direct. I didnt want to waste time and needed a tooth pulled or fixed right then. Dr. Nolan made me feel comfortable and peformed the work within an hour. Although he wasnt cheap, the office was clean and the staff very personable. I thank him for the good service and would reccommend him to anyone in the south bay or marina.

I don't like going to the dentist. I have had dental work on almost every tooth. That was due to my lack of care when I was wearing braces as a youth. For somebody who doesn't like going to the dentist, Dr. Nolan makes it as comfortable as possible. One of the visits I opted for sedation to fill several cavities and 2 hours later I was home and never felt a thing. I have been to several dentists in my life and many of them try to push services or try to convince you that you have phantom cavities (ones that don't exist). Dr. Nolan is not of those dentists. I have booked well over 150 hours in a dental chair in the past 10-15 yrs. Not the funnest thing to do in the world, but Dr. Nolan makes it as painless as possible.
