I am scared of the dentist :( so I will only go to Dr Nolan. He is phenomenal with patients like me. Even though he isnt the cheapest I will only go to him. I have moved around a lot in the last 20 years so I have had a lot of experience with different doctors and dentists and I have never had a great dentist before Doctor N. Dr Nolans work on my mouth go wrong (and I met Dr Nolan when getting a low cost botched root canal fixed). This Doctor works very hard at being the best. He performs almost perfect procedures (and I'm a tough judge) and he is always growing and grooming his technique and educating himself to the current trends in dentistry. If you found Dr Nolan you are lucky! So Don't go cheap - IT'S YOUR MOUTH! Nobody will kiss that thing if it ain't fixed right...

I have canceled more dental appointments that I have kept over my lifetime due to fear of the pain. A few years ago I started noticing signs that said "Dental Chickens". I have recently had 3 teeth break due to old silver fillings I got when I was a kid. I needed root canals and crowns. I was scared to death because of all the horror stories I had heard from other people, and having experienced some nightmare dentists in the past.

I brought my brother in because his teeth had suffered years of neglect. Dr. Nolan explained that there was extensive work to be done and would begin with the most critical. He wasted no time in starting the work and understood the cost contraints and worked within them. three years to go to another dentist - I was terrified. Where would I find another compassionate dentist who would understand my sensitive teeth and gums?

Enter Dr. Robert Nolan. When he first treated me 5 years ago, I had two broken fillings holding my back molars together, a crown and another filling that needed to be replaced AND my teeth were cemented together with tartar.

I came to Dr. Nolan, because I woke up with my jaw and gums swollen from a tooth that needed a root canal that had a temp filling by another Dentist. It was obvious that it was infected and painful. Dr. Nolan gave me a appointment that morning, needless to say the tooth was damaged beyond saving, at that point the tooth had to be removed and a bridge made to replace the tooth. He prepped the teeth next to the removed tooth for the bridge that day. I came back in about a week later to get the bridge installed. No pain and after a little grinding to fit the bite. I haven't had any problems with the bridge since. That was 7 yrs ago. During this whole procedure the office staff had been taking care or all the insurance paper work. I don't remember doing any paper work beyond showing my insurance card. Dr Nolan and his staff were very caring and attentive to my dislike of pain. Since then he has replaced all my metallic fillings and also had to do a crown on another tooth. His office is alway clean, comfortable, and cool in the summer. The staff always have great chair side manner, I

I've been going to Dr. Nolan for over 8 years. The one thing I like is his understanding of when I say, "I have no tolerance for even a tingle of pain", that he takes extra care to insure I am pain free and happy. I neglected my teeth due to being so busy with work and a general distaste for dentists anyway. Dr. Nolan is by far the best dentist hands down. I am originally from Illinois and when I moved to California in 1991 I was very picky in choosing a dentist that would put me at ease and take care of me in the manner I needed and expected. Right before I moved to New York, I was residing in California. I took the Christmas/ New Years deal in the newspapers that Dr. Nolan offered for a clean up of teeth by a dental hygienist.

I must tell you that I had not cleaned my teeth in a long while because I never felt the need to - I had all my teeth cavities filled with amalgam and I never had bad breath. I just thought my lower teeth were yellow and I was feeling awkward about smiling without covering my mouth with my hands.

So finally in January, I got an appointment with my coupon - I had paid very little for X-ray, checkup and cleaning/ hygiene for my teeth.

The dental hygienist who worked on me did a great job - because my teeth changed color! I never knew the magic that dental hygienists could do, before that!

Since after, I have decided to do my dental cleaning atleast 3-4 times a year (more than the recommended two times!)

I saw dr. nolan from a bus bench and went to him on an emergency. I called on sunday . To my surprise dr. nolan answered the telephone. Wow! I only go to the dentist when i have a toothache. I am a dental chicken.

Dr. Nolan met me in three hours from my phone call in his office at 8 pm sunday night. He was real casual which i thought was really great. I could tell he was not a stuffy dentist. The office was real relaxed. Dr. Nolan got me out of pain and i felt great after i left.

The next week i came back for x-rays and exam. He throughly reviewed everything. The dental assistant took digital x-rays and photos of the inside of my mouth. I needed a lot of work. I think my entire exam took over one hour. Funny thing, he did not leave the room the whole time.

What a great experience. Everyone was so nice to me. They did not make me feel bad because my mouth was in bad condition.

When i finally had the work done dr. nolan did three root canals and crowns on me & one veneer. He put me to sleep and i woke up and did not remember anything . I was having extreme dental pain. I called Dr Nolan and even trhough it was a scheduled time off for him. He came in on an emergency call for me! and saw me within hours of calling. I had always had bad experiences at my prior dentists offices and because of this I had neglected my teeth. His office staff was friendly and I was assured that he would take good care of me . I was frightened coming in., When I met Dr Nolan he was very nice and explained the problem I was having and we scheduled a time for me to have my procedure done.

Over the 25 plus years I have gone to Dr. Nolan, I have had crowns, cosmetic fillings, periodontic surgery and treatments, extraction of wisedom teeth and regular check ups. I am not afraid to admit that I am a "Dental Chicken." The only reason why I even went to see Dr. Nolan so many years ago was the advertising that he did on the Bus Benches. I would only go when I had a problem. I took a chance and haven't regretted it since! Dr. Nolan convinced me that if I would come see him regularly, that I could avoid many of the Dental problems that I had had in previous years. It's been 24 years now! I've had fillings redone, one inlay and one root canal over the years. I am very difficult to sedate orally and the Dental Drill causes me a lot of stress. i first went to dr nolan because i had a tooth ache. My friend referred me to him. I was very nervous, afraid and had not been to a dentist in 6 years. I live in Calabassas. It was a long trip,but was well worth it. I first came in i noticed that there was no one in the waiting room. Before seeing Dr Nolan I was truly a dental chicken, having had numerous bad experiences with dentists and being extremely intolerant of pain.

Unfortunately, I broke the root of a front tooth and needed a new tooth to be made and implanted. With Dr. Nolan's guidance, I made my way through the process painlessly and stress free. Also, he made sure the tooth color matched perfectly before he would accept it.

Dr Nolan is confident and calming and has a way of making you feel at ease. I no longer associate going to the dentist with pain.

I highly recommend Dr. Nolan. I move every couple years, so have seen the good and not so good ... Dr. Nolan is the best so far. I like the small touches: the aquarium and comfortable chairs in the waiting room (although I've never had long to wait), the modern equipment like the small in-mouth digital camera so I can see my teeth the way he sees my teeth, and the clean facilities. Most important is the high quality of work he has performed, exhibiting the same attention to detail. The front desk support was always superb, with a follow-up call after a procedure (in my case crowns and fillings) being the norm. i first went to dr. nolan from a ad i saw in the local newspaper. I was very nervous but decided to give it a try. The first person i met was Paula , inthe front , who was nice. Debbie who took my x-rays was really nice and made me feel comfortable. Dr. Nolan suggested i go to sleep for the dental work. It was the best visit i have ever had. He did in two appointments all my teeth in the front upper. My smile now is really great. It was expensive but i now smile all the time. Although i was not a chicken, I had ignored my teeth for over 5 years and knew I was facing serious consequences. I gave in and made an appointment for a checkup. Paula was so nice when I called to make an appointment, and when I arrived in the office she made me feel so comfortable. After the initial consultation, I was told I had to have 9 fillings removed and replaced. Dr. Nolan and his staff made me feel safe and comfortable about proceeding with the treatment. My next appointment was very intense. I have terrible allergies, so it is very hard for me to breathe through my nose. I was very nervous about having my mouth blocked, but Dr. Nolan and the staff adjusted their procedures to ensure that I was comfortable and able to breathe. When we were half way through, I asked if we could go ahead and finish (I knew I would not return to complete treatment). Dr. Nolan rearranged his schedule to accommodate my request. Just because he markets himself on bus ads doesn't take away from the fact that he's a skilled dentist with a friendly staff. They're always on time with appointments, they respect your time and possible phobias, and can work with absolutely anyone's fear and pain management.

Dr. Nolan's bedside manner is refreshingly candid. He doesn't waste time with goofy fake charisma or treacly mannerisms. He'll tell you what needs to be done, and why, and you can make your own informed decisions. I appreciate his straightforwardness, such as when he says, "I'm not going to tell you to floss more because you know that already." He's not being coy, he's being honest. He also doesn't give a toss what toothbrush you use, as long as you're flossing.

And he's right. We should all floss more.

I don't like going to the dentist. I have had dental work on almost every tooth. That was due to my lack of care when I was wearing braces as a youth. For somebody who doesn't like going to the dentist, Dr. Nolan makes it as comfortable as possible. One of the visits I opted for sedation to fill several cavities and 2 hours later I was home and never felt a thing. I have been to several dentists in my life and many of them try to push services or try to convince you that you have phantom cavities (ones that don't exist). Dr. Nolan is not of those dentists. I have booked well over 150 hours in a dental chair in the past 10-15 yrs. Not the funnest thing to do in the world, but Dr. Nolan makes it as painless as possible.

I am what can be described as a phobic patient. All through my adult life I had let my teeth get to the point of what I thought was 'no return' and thought about my teeth and the health consequences most of the time. I had molars that had rotted down to nubs and a wisdom tooth that had decided to grow forwards into my other teeth. I never smiled for fear of being 'found out'.

One day I saw a bench add for Dental chickens and decided to check their website out. Reading the site made me realize that if I plucked up enough courage to go and see them, I could maybe be able to smile again without fear.

I took an afternoon off work for an exam. I was extremely embarrassed at first, but Doctor Nolan was compassionate and above all, honest. He told me I was in bad shape, needed bridges, but believed I could be fixed!

I decided to take him at his word and had four procedures done. 4 bridges and some minor filling work. I opted for sleep sedation and I really remember nothing of the procedures except waking up at home the next morning with slight soreness, but temporary bridges in place, which gave a glimpse of how I was to look.

After a few months, I was fixed and have been going back checkups ever since.

About Hygienist: Every time I leave Dr Nolan's, I feel clean! The sessions are about 30 mins or longer depending and very gentle, yet thorough. I'm always told where to brush/floss more.

Before I went to Dr. Nolan my previous experiences with dentists were bad. Because of all the pain i went through with many of the dentists before Dr. Nolan I put off going to the dentist for many years. I ended up being in a lot of pain and finally had to go to the dentist. From the moment i walked into his office i knew that i would be comfortable there, it wasnt like all the other offices, it was much cozier in the waiting room and the staff were all very friendly. I told Dr. Nolan that i dont work well with pain medication and he said he had something for me. I did not know that i could be sedated before the work started. I ended up having a great experience, i was given the medication and I fell asleep, and when I woke up all of the work was finished and i felt no pain at all. Dr. Nolan was great and I would reccomend him to anyone with a fear of the dentist, he makes getting your teeth done enjoyable.

I was so terrified to go to the dentist that I waited seven years before finding Dr. Nolan here on Dr. Oogle. I knew I needed to go to someone who would make it a priority to calm my fears and make my procedures as comfortable as possible.

Predictably, I needed a lot of work, but I wasn't scared when Dr. Nolan explained to me what I was going to need to have done. He walked me through my x-rays and made me feel confident about my upcoming procedures. Aside from my deep gum cleaning (I had periodontal disease - gross!), Dr. Nolan did all of my work in one sitting. I didn't want full sedation, so he gave me a mild sedative and headphones. I lied through several fillings, a crown and a chipped tooth repair, listening to 80's music and almost fell asleep.

I am totally cured of my dental fears! I used to feel nauseated just thinking about making a dentist appointment. Now, I am looking forward to my next cleaning and I love knowing that my teeth will stay healthy from now on.

About Hygienist: My Hygienist was also great. I think I spent more time with her dealing with my periodontal disease than with Dr. Nolan! Just like everyone at the office, she was very friendly and tried hard to make sure I was as comfortable as possible while undergoing my deep cleanings. Deep cleanings are not very pleasant so it is important to have someone with you who listens to you and tries to make the experience a positive one.

I went to Dr. Nolan because his telphone book ad read for Dental Chickens. And that's exactly what I am! First of all, he has a very relaxed office. The receptionist, Paula made me feel at home immediately. I was a nervous wreck when I got there. She callmed me down. She took me to a nice quiet room in the back of the office. Debbie, the Dental Assistant strolled in with a bright smile and a warm greeting. She prepared me for the Doctor. By the time Dr Nolan came in I had calmed down a little. He told me what he was going to do and that it would definitely be painless. I had 2 fillings replaced and a wisdom tooth removed. I tell you ...I didn't even feel the needle go in. He was magical. He was gentle and with Debbie at his side he moved quickly from one procedure to the next. I felt absolutely NO PAIN! I was amazed when he told me he finished. I drove home removed the gauze where my wisdom tooth used to me. The bleeding had stopped and I'm a happy patient. I'd recommend

Dr. Nolan to all Dental Chickens and everyone else. He's just great! I'm very proud of him. I finally found a dentist I don't mind going to.

About Hygienist: I don't know what to tell you about Debbie. She's beautiful, has a calming personality, and is fun to talk to. She cleaned my teeth and took xrays on my first visit. She did a great job . She was gentle and thorough. My teeth sparkled when I left after my very first visit. Everyone working in that office is very professional.

I am a dental chicken, so when I saw Dr Nolan's specialty I decided to try him out, after many years of avoiding dentists. I needed a fair bit of work done, and he got it all done in one afternoon, giving me some anti-anxiety meds to make the experience less stressful. It was a stress-free experience and I'm glad I had the work done. I recently had to go for some root canal work, and the endodontist commented that the crowns I had were very well done, so I will take that as a sign that he does good work. He is very professional and friendly to patients.

About Hygienist: The deep cleaning I had done was so painful I cried in the chair. I didn't get the impression she knew how to do the procedure properly. This hygienist caused me to move to a different dentist, who has a great hygienist who did a better cleaning with no pain.

Dr. Nolan is a top notch DENTIST. A+ As a dentist he is very professional and explains everything to you and shows you your teeth close-up with digital still photos. Explaining the problems and possible treatments. The very best things is he does NOT do unnecessary procedures and over charge you. You get the dental work you really need done. Dr. Nolan goes out of his way to make sure you are numbed, so you'll feel NO PAIN. Over 20 years of dental experience is the difference. Dr. Nolan has one of the most outstanding assistants in Debbie, I can not say enough about how wonderful and professional she is, going out of her way to make sure you are comfortable and taken care of #1. I had a dental emergency with a lot of pain. I called Dr. Nolan and he got me in within 2 hours. He gave me medication immediately to relieve the pain and help me relax. He proceeded to work on 3 of my teeth at that first appointment. I ended up getting 3 new crowns.

I have 13 crowns in my mouth and all I can remember is how painful they were. Dr. Nolan put 3 more in my mouth and I never experienced any pain from those. It was the most calming, relaxing, dental visit I have ever been to.

I am very happy with my new crowns and have not had any problems with them. I would absolutely go back to him and refer him to my friends and family.

I hadn't gone to a dentist in years out of fear and avoidance. I went to Dr Nolan after seeing his advertising to "dental chickens" and found that he means that. I needed a number of crowns and fillings, and he did it all in 2 sessions with me sedated enough that I felt no fear at all. I had no pain, the staff helped so much with relieving my anxiety and making me comfortable.

They also helped me maximize my insurance coverage as well as help me book appointments; when the Dr was running late the receptionist called me to fine-tune my arrival. Very courteous and warm, they all seemed to really care about my comfort and be at ease with a phobic patient. No one ever made me feel bad about my teeth/mouth--even after looking inside.

The hi-tech camera for x-rays was very cool! And I got the sense that Dr Nolan and his assistant are real pros at what they're doing, and know what they're doing advertising for us Dental Chickens. My crowns and fillings are all completed and I can hardly believe it---they look and feel great. I won't be waiting as long again---that's a big relief.
