Case Description
I am interested in getting a dental implant. However, I am concerned about my sensitivity to metal. I am wondering if there is any dentist in orange county that does metal reactivity testing. I want to take this test before getting an implant.

Are You This Patient?
When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description,
special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more
reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors.
Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.

We do a great deal of material sensitivity testing. If you have a concern we could do a Clifford test to see what materials are appropriate for you. However, we are located in Camarillo.

Dental implants are made with Titanium metal which is rarely an allergic metal in patients. Silver and Gold found in jewelry is not used in dental materials. Nickel is a common allergin found in cheap crowns or caps that some dentists use but a reputable dentist will not use those cheap labs to make them. Implants are not made by labs but by surgical manufacturing companies. The crown that is attached to the top of the implant needs to be made by the lab so be careful to get a special crown made that does not contain the metal you are sensitive too.
