When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
  • Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
  • Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description, special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
  • Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
  • Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors. Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.

you first need to see a general dentist or prosthodontist. He/she will plan your implant and complete it. Come in for a complimentary consultation. Call 310-691-8542

The usual approach to having an implant placed is to first see either a general dentist or a prosthodontist first. The reason is that the situation should be evaluated to see if an Oral Surgeon or a Periodontist should place the implant. Periodontists are often a better choice for implant placement if you have lost a front tooth (periodontists are often more gentle with tissue and you have to be more delicate in esthetically demanding areas). Oral surgeons can be a better choice if a lot of bone has to be added before the implant is placed. If you have only lost one tooth a prosthodontist is probably overkill but not a bad idea. If you have lost a front tooth you want a dentist who has a strong cosmetic/esthetic background and has a team of specialists who can support the success of the most demanding cases.

I hope I haven''''t confused you. If you could e-mail me with the location of the missing tooth I can give you a much more specific answer.

Hello,

You should see a Periodontist or an Oral Surgeon (both are highly trained specialists) to place the implant. Typically they can refer you to a good Prosthodontist or restorative dentist to place the crown. If the implant needs to be placed in the smile zone you should consult a Periodontist.

You should look for a periodontist or an Oral surgeon. The periodontist may be a better choice if your tooth is one of your front ones..meaning you can see it when you smile. Cost is usually the same at both specialists. After the implant is placed, a general dentist can do the restorative work for you ( the periodontist and the oral surgeon do not typically provide these services) which would be the crown to make it look like a real tooth.

Hope this helps

It does not matter, as long as they have extensive implant training and you can speak to patients that had it completed by them. If you would like you can have you case evaluated by our dentist just leave your info at dentistador@gmail.com
